Methodology Defining The Scope Our Creative Officer and Project Manager will work with your team to first understand your needs through a series of meetings and questionnaires. We focus on your target audience, your message or messages, and any restaints (like time or costs) that you have. The different technologies that can support your site will also be explored and explained to use in plain language. We then take your needs and develop a detailed plan including a time line to best reach your goals. Project Management Santa Cruz Web Design is happy to work with your marketing and web team. Should you wish us to provide the Project Management, we are happy to do so. Our Project Managers are skilled at nor only coordinating but asking the right questions that mean the difference between a delay and getting the job done on time. We will provide you with an updated Gantt chart at regular intervals so you will be kept in the loop and know the status at any time. Pre-Production & Design Once we have your goals and a plan is to begin the design process by first examining colors and fonts that you may like. We provide you with recommendations but we can use your existing look and feel as well. Often, current marketing collatoral can easily be incorporated into your web design. When we finalize the color scheme and fonts, we begin to develop Graphic Comps using Photoshop 6.0. Intuitive Navigation Santa Cruz Web Design's goal during the design process is to create an effective and highly intuitive navigation system, that allows for a comfortable user experience. No matter how complex your site architecture is our designers will build a hierarchical system that is clear and inviting. Graphic Comps Santa Cruz Web Design will provide as many comps as you need or are within your budget. We normally produce two per template to give you many options. We then get feedback on what we have designed and modify the comp as needed, often taking elements from both comps and combining them into a new version. After another round of feedback we normally have a finalized and approved comp ready for production. XHTML Production Our production team takes the Graphic Comp and builds XHTML templates, using the most current standards of the W3C . Your XHTML templates will look just like the Graphic Comps but are re-sizeable and look great in each of the major browsers. Your navigation system and other objects in your site can be suported by JavaScript to give a nice feel. Cascading Style Sheets will give your text the right look for beauty and ledgibility. Site Build Out We take the approved XHTML tempates and use the layout to build out additional text pages and to be used for back end programming and scripting. Back End Programming We will work with you to develop back end programming and scripting that fits within your budget from simple Perl/CGI scripts to simple PHP/MySQL database applications to a complex PHP/MySQL Shopping Cart. We partner with iKorb Systems to provide to best and cost effective solutions. Many clients have custom solutions as well that fit within their budget. Deployment, Testing, & Launch Santa Cruz Web Design's team will deploy your site on a robust and stable UNIX/Linux server and set up any supporting technologies that you need, like email. We will then thoroughly test your site and simulate high bandwithd loads to make sure that everything is working. Once we have finished QA testing, and the client has had a chance to test themselves, we will launch your site to the entire world. We will be at your disposal ready to support you if any change needs to be made or if anything isn't working. Maintenance We are happy to provide ongoing web maintenance should you desire it. We have plans that give the client the peace of mind to know that their changes can be done within hours for rush jobs and within specified times for normal maintenance work. Others may prefer to have Santa Cruz Web Design update their content periodically at certain intervals. Either way we will support you and your site. |
